How a Korean name is chosen from your saju (not random)

Most “Korean name generators” hand you pretty syllables at random. Traditional Korean naming does the opposite: it reads your birth chart first, then chooses a name that balances it. Here’s how that works.
A name is chosen, not generated
Korean naming (jakmyeong, 작명) is a craft with rules. A good name balances the chart it belongs to: it favors the elements the birth chart lacks, lets the syllables flow in sound, and avoids combinations considered unlucky. The name is derived from the person, not picked from a hat.
That’s the difference between a real Korean name and a random one — the same difference as between a reading computed from your chart and a chatbot’s guess.
What a saju-based name balances
Three things do most of the work. First, the sound-elements (발음오행): Korean syllables carry elemental qualities, and a name is chosen so those sounds supply what the chart is short on. Second, the flow — the syllables should sit well together out loud. Third, the fit with the chart’s favorable elements, so the name supports rather than fights the person who carries it.
Why random generators miss
A fantasy name generator has no chart to work from, so it can only pick syllables that look nice. It can’t favor your missing element, because it never computed your elements. A saju name starts from your Four Pillars and works outward — which is why two different birth charts should get different names.
For non-Korean users
You don’t need to have been born in Korea. We cast your chart from the birth time and place you give, then choose a name that fits it — a heritage-flavored Korean name with its meaning and romanization, offered for meaning and fun rather than as an official identity.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a real Korean name?
Yes — real hangul with a meaning, plus romanization so you can say it. It’s built the way a Korean name is built, from the chart outward.
Do I need to know Korean?
No. You get the name in hangul, its romanized pronunciation and what it means.
Is it just a random generator?
No — the name is derived from your Four Pillars chart and its favorable elements, not chosen at random.
