Sixty characters, not twelve signs

Western horoscopes sort everyone into 12 boxes by birth month. Korean saju works differently: the day you were born maps to one of 60 day-pillar characters — an elemental color (green, red, yellow, white, black) paired with one of twelve animals. A Green Rat is not a Black Rat. The pair rotates every day, and in saju it is read as the core of your temperament.

This quiz plays both games. First, eight questions guess who you act like — that part is vibes, and we say so. Then your birth date is run through the same deterministic Four Pillars engine that powers our full readings, and it computes who you actually are. No AI touches the calculation; the engine counts the calendar. Whether the two match is the fun part.

Questions people ask

What are the 60 saju characters?

In Korean saju (BaZi / Four Pillars), the day you were born maps to one of 60 stem-branch pairs — five elemental colors (green, red, yellow, white, black) times twelve animals. That pair, the day pillar, is treated as the core of who you are. It changes every single day, so it is far more specific than a birth-year zodiac sign.

How is my real character calculated?

From your birth date alone, using calendrical math — the same deterministic engine that computes our full readings. Nothing is guessed and no AI is involved in this step: the engine counts the sexagenary cycle to your exact birth day. The quiz questions are just for fun; only the birth-date step is calculated.

Is this the same as my Chinese zodiac sign?

No. Your zodiac sign comes from your birth year, so everyone born the same year shares it. Your day pillar comes from your birth day — one of 60 combinations that rotate daily. Two people with the same zodiac sign usually have completely different day-pillar characters.

What if I was born close to midnight?

The day pillar is computed on the calendar day of birth. Hour-level questions (like the traditional 11pm boundary) affect the hour pillar, which the full reading resolves with your birth time and birthplace — including true solar time correction.
