Korean zodiac

The Korean zodiac

Twelve animals on a twelve-year cycle — the same twelve used across East Asia. In saju they are not decorative: each animal is an earthly branch carrying an element, a polarity and a season, and branches are half of every pillar in your chart. 2026 is a Horse year.

Each page gives the branch data, the birth years, and compatibility against all twelve — worked out from the harmony and clash tables the engine actually uses, with the rule named each time.

Before you look yours up

The saju year turns at ipchun, around 4 February — not on 1 January and not at Lunar New Year. Anyone born in January or the first days of February belongs to the previous animal, which is the single most common reason two websites hand you different signs.

Your animal is one character out of eight

It is your year branch — shared with a twelfth of everyone alive. The character that stands for you is the top of your day pillar, and it changes every single day.
